“There’s something about pop music, that just gets in your head, and makes you want to dance.” That quote is from Pocketknife drummer Karen D’apice, and could very well serve as the mission statement for the group. Along with D’apice, Pocketknife is comprised of singer Marlin Gonda, bassist David Chase, and keyboardist Jessica Boudreaux. Armed with their love of all things pop, from The Ronettes to Madonna to The Smiths, the band formed to play their brand of infectious guitar and synth driven music for a house show in 2009. Despite moving beyond the basement, their shows still brim with an energy and accessibility that makes the audience feel like they’re dancing in their living room with their friends rather than a stark room full of strangers.

“With boundless energy and an infectious attitude, I can’t wait to see this band live again.” – Arielle Mullin
